Beekeeping is a very old profession, the first evidence that man collects honey come from 2000 -7000 BC. In the Egyptian pyramids, there was a jar of honey, which is thousands of years old, but still edible. Honey is a food that never expires.
If you want to learn how to become a beekeeper there are many sources from which you can do it. There is a multitude of books and articles that teach you how to get started with beekeeping and what are the mysteries of this profession. Unfortunately, not all sources of information are accurate and reliable.
How to Raise Honeybees
The best way to learn beekeeping is to take a specialized course, where the information is delivered directly by specialized people, with diploma and experience in the field.
Another inspiration is joining a group of beekeepers. You can join an association or there are groups on Facebook where you will find support and information.
General information about the growth of bees
If the outside temperature exceeds 12 degrees, the bees begin their cleaning flight. The cleaning flight aims to clear the intestines of the bees. After a period of 3 months in which the bees are in hibernation and do not go out, they need this cleaning flight.
To help them, offer them warm water sweetened with 0.5 g / liter salt.
The bees are harvested after the acacia has bloomed. During this period, the number of families increases.
Autumn begins after the harvest has ceased. During this time, the jars, the honeycombs that have defects and the food for winter are replaced. In winter, when the hibernation process begins, the beekeeper’s activity is reduced to hive hives so that everything is fine.
The most important period in the lives of bee families is the roe. It starts in May when the family reaches full capacity.
During this period it is important to ensure sufficient space for a large number of bees and for the storage of nectar.
During this period the number of sweet bees is reduced. Sweet bees are responsible for storing food for softening the larvae shell.
It also helps the larvae to hatch. The sweet bees provide abundant food that comes from a glandular secretion and bears the name of milkweed.
The bee family
Any family of bees has between 30,000 and 50,000 members. The family members are the junk, the transient and the working bees.
The queen has a lifespan of 3 to 5 years and can lay, in a year, up to 200,000 eggs. The communication with the other bees is made by pheromones.
Working bees live about 30 days. During their lives, they have three roles: sweet bees, domestic bees, and beekeepers. The sweat bees, as I wrote above, take care of the larvae and feed them.
The domestic bees take care of the hive and the bees are the bees that collect the pollen.
A bee during its lifetime produces half a spoon of honey.
The traitors are all male. Their role is to pair with the mask.
They have a short lifespan of up to 25 days. After mating their abdomen explodes and this leads to rapid death.
If the food is not enough, the working bees will remove them from the hives.
The main reason for the death of the bees is the exhaustion. They can fly about 800 kilometers.
Once this distance is reached, they are no longer able to fly or care. As a last curiosity, honey is the only complete food. It is full of vitamins, carbohydrates, antioxidants, and minerals. It can sustain life independently of other foods.
